Volunteer

If you are new to York Region, volunteering is a great way to meet other people, learn about the community and get some hands-on experience.

If you are new to Canada, sometimes it is easier to get a job that requires Canadian experience if you volunteer in your community. Volunteering lets you gain local work experience while practising your English language skills and can sometimes lead to paid employment.

Everyone benefits from volunteering. Volunteers gain valuable work experience and organizations gain a volunteer to help them contribute to the community.
